Which is the Best Sandals Resort?

One great thing about Sandals Resorts is that you will find great food and great service at all of them.

The best way to find out which Sandals
Resort is best for you is to call us. Within a few minutes we can help you narrow your choice down to two or three Sandals Resorts and/or room categories that are best for you. You can spend hours trying to figure it out on your own.

The things that set them apart from each other are:

1. The Island
The biggest difference between resorts is the island. With the recent opening of Sandals Emerald Bay you now have a choice of five different islands:

Jamaica
St Lucia
Antigua
New Providence Island (Nassua), Bahamas
Great Exuma, Bahamas

Based on feed back from over 600 couples we can tell you Sandals gets almost 100% positive reviews regardless of which island.  Most of these are very enthusiastic.

Often, travelers are hesitant to vist Jamaica. This is usually due to misinformation concerning safety. Many of our clients have stayed at Sandals on several different  islands.  Ironically, those who have experienced Sandals both in Jamaica and another island overwhelmingly prefer Jamaica.

Based on customer feedback the islands rank as follows: #1 Jamaica, #2 St Lucia, #3 Antigua, #4 Bahamas.

2. The Water (the kind you play in, not drink!)
Beaches, swimming pools, diving, snorkeling, sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, water skiing, and more are included at Sandals. No individual Sandals Resort is the best for everything.

For example, Sandals Grande Ocho Rios not only has the most, but some of the best swimming pools of all the Sandals. However, many other Sandals have better beaches.

Sandals Negril is great for water skiing, but those who love to windsurf or sail a sunfish or hobie cat may be disappointed at the lack of wind.

By the way, drinking the water is not an issue at any Sandals. Tap water is fine to drink and bottled water is always available.

3. The Price (and value)
For some, the biggest consideration. You will usually get the most for your money in Jamaica.  Jamaica almost always offers the lowest airfare. And when comparing rooms, Jamaica will usually be your best value, especially in the lower categories. Sandals does offer free nights in higher category rooms from time to time and that can make those rooms great values.

4. The Rooms
Want to know the best rooms?
Here you go:

Sandals Grand Lucian
Ultra Luxury Beach Rondoval Suite w/ Private Plunge Pool & Whirlpool

Sandals Regency St Lucia
Sunset Royal Oceanfront 1 Bdr. Two Story Villa Suite with Pool

Sandals Negril
Beachfront 1 Bdr. Swim-Up Crystal Lagoon Suite w/Private Lagoon Entrance
Millionaire Honeymoon One Bdr. Suite with Private Pool & Whirlpool

Sandals Royal Caribbean

Want the best ocean front room for your money? Try Sandals Grande Ocho Rios. You will find the  best river suite at Sandals Negril, but you can get the almost the same thing (without Negril's 7 mile beach of course) for a lot less money at Sandals Royal Caribbean.  Best beach front value? Probably Sandals Whitehouse.

The best way to understand the difference between the hundreds of room categories that Sandals offers is to talk to us. Even the same room category, such as "Deluxe", is totally different from property to property. For instance, a Deluxe room at Sandals Negril will have no balcony or patio, no view, and is very small. A Deluxe room at Sandals Whitehouse will be beach front, have a patio, and is very spacious.

5. And Everything Else...
What else is important?

Sandals Whitehouse has a great beach and awesome pools, but the location is "Off the Beaten Track" and the lack of shopping or town nearby may not suit you.

Sandals Red Lane Spas are awesome. But as with everything, some are better than others.

Some Sandals Resorts offer better access to off property activities and sight-seeing than others.

Jet skiing, parasailing, sunset cruises and party cruises are popular activities that Sandals does not include. But you won't find them at every Sandals Resort.

The same is true of shopping.

And, what about the Stay at One, Play at the Others? This is easy at some Sandals Resorts and virtually impossible at others.
